MP helped in my fight against the CSA

February 10, 2010

I changed jobs due to impending redundancy, which meant I was earning £22k but had to travel 60 miles a day to get it. The CSA raised my payments from £300 a month to £500 a month. I spoke to them on a regualr basis and said the regular payments are fine at £300 a month, but an extra £200 a month for arrears is too much. I was promised time and again that they could reduce the arrears payments for me, even after my ex wrote to them to say they’re too high.

Eventually, and I should have done this first, I contacted my MPs office. They have just confirmed that they spoke ot the CSA and they have agreed to drop my payments to £300, thuogh it will take longer to clear the arrears (ofcourse it will CSA but not NEARLY as long as it will take if you keep forcing people out of work!).

Not only did my MP’s office save my job, they may have saved my home, my marriage and my life (I really was THAT close to the end).

I hope this helps.
