I’ve missed out because the CSA gave me incorrect advice

I got divoced in 1999,was told by csa that my x husband did not have to pay for his 2 children he had with me,as he had new family, and they now came first.

I know find i was given wrong advice.

Can i still claim back payment for last 14 years?

  1. If there is no case then no, plus if it was on cs1(old csa system) he was probably on a low income and nil assessed which wasn’t the wrong advice. New rules came into force in 2003 (cs2) where the minimum he would of paid was 5.00 a week if you opened up a new claim.

  2. ye trying to take my kids tax credits n 3 are from a previous marriage n litterally bothing to do with the other kid but want to use their tax credits to pay achild thsy already gets it himself……i dont understand how they can tske this money as its given because the LAW says yr family doesnt have enuff to live on so then how can u afford to lose the said family credit to pay sumone elses child?????muny grsbbin mums want dads n new families muny apatamtly our kids arnt importamt……

  3. No you cant ask for backdated payments unless a case had remained open in all that time, just because the csa gave you the wrong information doesn’t mean you can screw your ex now!!! you obviously didn’t need the money back then so why do you so desperately want it now?

  4. If a case is still open on cs1 then it will stay on cs1, if he was nil assessed and no change in circumstances then no money is owed or back dated…and Lisa I agree, why do pwcs treat children like compensation claims, did they not have the ultimate joy of their child(ren)?

  5. Yes do as Charlotte advises….lol….she’s the expert at the moment on here, with 3 kids, different dads and racking it in with the help of the good old CSA…lol
No you have no case, you didn’t make a claim in 99 and opening 1 now, it will start from that date.
    Gonk

  6. @ Tracey Warner
Oh and it’s not bloody PPI That you think your owed because of mis selling….lol.
So you missed out…get over it….or do you think you entitled to some huge windfall ?
What would you do with it today ? Spend it ALL as you should, on the kids, after all it would have come about because of them. Or would you spend it on a nice holiday or new car perhaps..lol….
    Gonk
