I’ve been paying every month for five years, why am I now in arrears?

I have been paying csa through DEO the amount which was asked for. I have been paying this for 5 years. I received a letter today saying I now owe them £2500 in arrears. How can they put up the amount I should be paying now and backdate it 5 years. They want to double the amount of payment each week which I cant afford and because of the % cutoff point means I will never pay the full amount so now will get further into arrears.

Can they do this? Any advice would be great appreciated.

many thanks

  1. Stuart:- Ask for a revision of the last assessment. If this is refused you can then appeal. Ask them why it was backdated five years.

  2. I was in a similar predicament. I appealed and had my day at a appeals tribunal only to be told that they could not deal with the arrears only the amount/week (which I was not disputing) so it was a very quick hearing and a waste of everyones time…..

  3. The CSA and the idiots who work for it can do what the like without the worry of reprisal… they victimise and bully people like yourself consistently Stuart and they get away with it….. they lie, they fabricate fictitious arrears and they promote themselves to the PWC with the promise that “the CSA can get you more money”!!!!

It doesn’t matter that both parents have a private agreement that works well, as soon as you mention more money to PWC, who would refuse it!!!

There are CSA staff who come on to this website (and many others i’m sure) touting for business by specifying CSA rules and legislation to make is sound clear and simple, however, what they don’t tell you is that the staff are idiots who don’t have a clue what they are doing and don’t have a conscience…
