I’ve been overpaying since 2011 – am I entitled to a lump-sum refund?
I have been over paying CSA payments since november 2011 its only until now December 2013 that they have managed to calculate the correct amount and i wont be over paying no more.
My daughter is 5 and I’ve never missed a payment to her. Although it was way too much. CSA are telling me they wont give me my money back in a lump sum. Is this legally allowed or is there anyone who has successfully managed to get their money back in full??

Yes they will just reduce your payments each month. Hope you sort it xx
Yeah different when they say u owe them money though isnt it? They are quick enough to snatch that from u an your family
Nope and in fact just to inform you there may be arrears on your account!
As middle creatures the CSA should refund it though if they have got it right.
Death to the CSA (and hopefully any staff member there). (Note: this is freedom of expression only)
I would of thought they would have too as its not their money they now making interest on. Look at taking them to court to recover the money you can do that your self they only a company.
In short, no (unless your case was to close down)
If there is to be an ongoing case and payments, then unfortunately it would be paid back by reducing your payments for a period of time. This decision would be backed up by Regulation 8 of The Child Support (Management of Payments and Arrears) Regulations 2009.
The CSA dont have your money, your ex does and they wont pay it back in a lump sum and then expect your ex to pay them back – thats far too complicated for them. I have overpaid and just not told them because its just too bloody complicated, and they are likely to reduce your payments by too much and you end up in arrears – then of course you will be expected to pay a lump sum for their second mistake.
They will reduce maintenance payments until money owed to you is paid up, happend to my husband last year x

Does 279 pounds a month sound to much for 1 child and I have been paying this for the last 3 years
