I’ve been out of work for two years – why do I still have to pay?

July 6, 2013

My daughter is 16 she has left school going to collage and she is working part time on a stall with her mother and she is getting paid cash in hand.

I’m not working I’ve been out of work for 2 years now but I’m still making the min payment of £6.60 a week. The csa say I still have to keep paying. why? its not right, the mother is working full time yet she has still been claiming all the benefits for years nothing gets said. when it’s me, the csa keep chasing all the time I can’t understand why I keep having to pay how do I get round this ???

Sad fact is as others have said, you will still have to pay. The reason is because the child is still in full time education, it does not matter about what the mother earns or does’t earn, I will make a guess at the fact that she is in receipt of WTC/CTC therefore her earnings are irrelevant.
It also sounds as though you have arrears on your case, hence paying £6.50 a week.
My only offer of advice here is to get your Data File and check that any arrears are actually factual.
