Is it too late to make a claim?

I was wondering when CSA payments stop and when you cannot make a claim.

I have a daughter who received a ridiculous amount of £40 per month from my ex husband where his second child received a lot more.

I wondered if I can back date a claim at all??

  1. My ex paid £40 a month which some say isn’t bad, it is when his next child was receiving £200 a month, thankfully this dead beat dad has lost out on our daughter and future grandchildren

  2. I did say something and was told none of my business , done now as daughter has nothing go with him

  3. It’s all according how old your daughter is and what method of collection he pays his other child.

if your daughter is below the age of 19 and in full time education on an appointed course, then yes you can claim….new claims however are now maintenance direct and require a private agreement, if one of you disagrees with the arrangement and you want the agency to collect on your behalf then a percentage of the money collected will be deducted.

As for back dating, no csa will not back date a new claim but can look into an old claim if there is evidence to do so.

  4. And at Tracy…yes 2 to support but how many pwc’s get extra help from the government and an nrp doesn’t but still has the same living costs ie rent, c/tax etc?

I’m a pwc who gets zero support from my ex with 2 children and I’m managing okay….I’d sooner my ex recognised he had children I.e with birthdays and xmas than how much I can get out of him.

Shut up with your rubbish. It’s never 50 50
The mother gets help and other benefits…some get all the benefits under the sun, inc council tax payed for, free housing ,child benefits, and cm from the ex who may work all the hours god sends just to be able to keep the roof over his head because of the day light robbery call ed the CSA.
What help does the Nrp get ???? What benefits does the Nrp get ???? Fuck all help.
So that’s why so many bitter angry fathers on here rant on at what they see as money grabbers…born out of pure frustration of being bled each month for amounts they can’t afford. And before you open your mouth again…..NO I do not condone deadbeat dads that avoid paying and make life a misery for all the hard working dads that do. I do condem the CSA system because it’s totally unfair and biased, and believes whatever the pwc tells them, they have the CSA totally on their side because they opened the door and let the robbers in. Hell….I understand why so many fathers can’t afford to see theirs kids anymore and why so many give up work to stop the constant and relentless flow of cash from his wages every month. You bang on about 50 50 and 2 to tango… How come them, I pay my ex £300 a month for our daughter. But she pays fuck all…she sure as hell gets all the hand outs, so where’s her contribution? How come if the CSA work out £300 a month , she don’t pay half that ????

  6. Well said Jo…very very true as I have also tried to get across. Bleeding hearts moaning the Nrp gets jack shit help with anything.

  7. Wow!!! Dont appreciate being told to shut up but then I guess thats the norm for this site!!!!

Besides, where does it even say shes on benefits?? it doesn’t… I work and pay my taxes and my rent bills etc and EVERYTHING else I have goes on my children so why should the NRP not have to pay???

  8. And FYI Im a PWC who doesbt get a penny from my ex. Just because you are butter about your ex Gonk dont take it out on me!!!!

  9. Tracy….an nrp should provide but fairly…in my opinion nrp and a pwc should be means tested or a set amount calculated like it is for child benefit…which unless a pwc is earning a considerable amount is entitled to.

And I agree with the csa, what an nrp pays out for other children is none of the pwc’s business as calculations were set out as such. Must be a reason to why one child had more ie private agreement, prior 2010 pwc on a benefit and the other wasn’t?? Who knows!

  10. Thing is I never said it should be 50/50 Gonk just made that up to hurl abuse at me :/ I said it tales two to tabgo so two shoyld support. No, I didnt mean the NRP should pay everything over but yes I meant they shoyld pay. The OP refered to the fact his other non resident child was getting more, whether its £5 or £500 the amount shoyld be split equally between all the childreb should it not?

  11. @ Tracy lamb
NO ONE IS SUGGESTING THE NRP SHOULD NOT PAY.
It’s the draconian stone age attitude of the CSA how they collect it and how they don’t means test that’s makes it so unfair. How it’s biased in favour of the pwc. how a lot of pwc use the CSA as weapon, exploiting it for their own means. Stopping fathers seeing kids to max out their claim. I am not bitter in the slightest about my ex, I am angry at the system and the fact I have no say on how my money is being spent.
And I used the benefits and other help broadly speaking because 9 times out of 10 they get it, so where is their contribution when they get hand outs from the state and the ex.
And as for the abuse I apparently gave you …lol…get a grip woman. You think telling you to shut up is abuse…jesus you are easily offended. Nevertheless, sorry for telling you to shut up.
The bottom line is NRP’s get the raw deal. They get SOD ALL help or sympathy

  12. Hi gonk, in my case do what my ex does, work cash in hand and ignores the csa’s letters….you’ll be nil assessed and any arrears suspended, this is what has happened on my case…and my ex won’t be held into any court or penalty against him.

I’ve emailed my mp to tell them what a farce the csa is and that it’s not being used for the reasons it was set up in the first place and they’re only hounding nrps who are easy targets and were paying in the first place, nrps like my husband. The whole system stinks, pwcs who use the csa for the right reasons are being ignored and cases laying dormant because it’s too much hassle to be worked on.

And Tracy, no it shouldn’t be split equally if one pwc is living better than the other or claiming all benefits whilst one works, hence why it should be means tested all round.
