Is CSA stopped when someone signs on?

June 6, 2015

I just wanted some advice. Me and my ex split over a year ago and we have two children together.

On splitting from their dad he asked for me to not contact CSA with regards to payments, that he has worked it out that it’s just over £300 a month in maintainance he needs to pay. I have never questioned it and he has been paying up and till now.

He nows tell me he has been sacked from his job and needs to sign on and legally he doesnt have to give me any money towards to children. Is this indeed the case??

I also would like to know, if you can help, what happens to childcare costs as my youngest goes to a pre school nursery and my eldest is collected after school by the same school as my youngest child as I work full time.

Their dad said it is my job to sort out and pay nursery fee’s. I understand I get child tax credits to help out, I just wondered if this is the case and he doesnt have to help out with this at all.

If jobseekers allowance is only £70 a week how do you expect the guy to pay you? He still has to eat and pay gas and electric so I would say he is telling you the truth

Work it out with your ex, the worst thing that you could possibly do in involve the vampires of the csa in this.

Through the CMS he would have to pay £7 a week from his benefits. Come to private arrangement if you can before going to the CMS.

Got something to say?
