I’m sure u should also be entitled to working tax credits. Child benifit and upto 60% of ur rent paid if ur income is as low as that. Maby u need to look into ur own financial matters then worrying abwt an extra 20quid a week from his dad. Working tax credits alone is 136 a week if ur income is that low!
Working tax credit fitter me is ninety pounds a week, not 136, unless children tax credit is included, and my income is next to nothing in my case. Do I think the max you can get is ninety pounds a week. Still, I agree. You will need to look into this.
If a 16 hr week on NMW is worked as a single parent, they would get just over £100 wages and £90 a week WTC and £62 CTC if child is under 5 or £55 a week if over 5. Plus child benefit at £20.30 a week, plus about £400 rent a month and be liable for hardly any council tax – say £6 a week. Plus any maintenance payments as they are no longer recognised. It works out more cash in your pocket than having a well paid job, If I didn’t have my mortgage and CTax to pay I would be laughing!
