I’m paying £129 for my 21-year-old child – is there any way this can be released?

i am currently paying £129 a month for my youngest child who is now 21… these are areas and i agree need paying… is there any way that this payment can be released as it is causing me great hardship and starting to stress and really depress me,,*0 would be an amount realistic to what i earn and is more affordable and comfortable for me.. please help i am getting behind with important bills like rent

Sounds to me that the payments are arrears payments. perhaps best to go to CAB and see if they will do you a financial statement, then put an offer to the CSA to pay an agreed amount for the arrears using the CAB financial statement, CAB may even attempt to negotiate with the CSA on your behalf. I would imagine that the CSA have told you that the arrears have to be paid within two years, this is not true.
    This is pure guess work as to your position as the facts are relatively scant from your original post.

  2. I thought it stopped at the end of the academic year after their 18th birthday – so if your child was 18 since September 2012, the last payment will be in August.

    So there’s more information to confuse you!
    No wonder you are pushed from pillar to post with the CSA, their own rules are just too confusing for PWCs,NRPs and their own ignorant staff.
    When dealing with the CSA ALWAYS do it in WRITING not by telephone.
