I’m not sure my name is on the birth certificate – should I still pay?

December 17, 2013

I had an affair with a gal who got pregnant, claim that the child is mine. I’ve been paying the CSA since then but I don’t even sure if this kid is mine. She got remarried do I have to pay the CSA still? I don’t even sure if my name is on the birth certificate.

From what i’m reading you already have an established case which means you accepted paternity at the beginning (or failed to meet their correspondence) ….
If this is the case then you need to go through the courts to get a decree of non-parentage (DNA test).
Her living situation does not affect the fact you helped bring the child into existence, and that is what the law plays on, and why you would still have to pay maintenance.
