I’m getting hit by arrears from when I was on sick pay

I have 2 boys age 17 & 6. Two different mothers. I have always paid my way.

For the oldest I was paying cash (yes I know I shouldn’t have but we had an amicable relationship) when his mother got married she decided to go to the csa and say I hadn’t paid her for 10 years.

Now I’m sure as hell anyone would have gone to the csa a lot sooner if I hadn’t been paying!!! Well I ended up paying well above the odds in arrears and lost my home and got in debt because I just couldn’t afford to pay everything.

I came to an amicable agreement between both mothers 2 years ago to pay £120 each a month per child directly to them cutting out csa. June 2013 myself & fiancé had our first child. We lowered the payments to £100 a month which they were both fine with.

In July 2013 the mother of my 6 year old decided to go to the csa after she had taken me to court to get a court order and things hadn’t gone her way. They csa at that point said I should be paying £96 month so we kept it amicable.

I went on the sick in January 2014 because of a hernia. The 6 year olds mother decided to go to the csa again because I had lowered the payments to £50 while getting sick pay. We have today received 2 letters from the csa sayibg I have to pay £70 a week per child because of arrears while I was on the sick!!

The mother hadn’t bothered to tell them back in July 2013 that we were continuing with an amicable agreement and to close the case. So now im lumbered again with a crippling csa bill. The youngest lives 80 miles away. Twice a month I pick him up and drop him off. Pay for his school uniform & provide his clothing while he is in my care.
