If my ex and I make an agreement, do I still have to pay the CSA back?

I am hopefully about to come to an arrangement with my ex to pay her directly rather than continue to go through the CSA. If she does agree to this and cancel her claim with them against me, does this mean the back pay i owe them will be cancelled too?

I really need an answer as this affects my financial future too. Can anyone help? Thanks

  1. Cancelling the claim cancels everything. However if they get involved again in the future ya can bet they will say you owe it

  2. Be careful…I have read many times before where the mother has closed a case against the father due to them coming to a private arrangement, then a few yrs down the line the mother wants more from you and threatens to open your file again with the CSA,and guess what ? They re open it with arrears because the mother simply lies to them saying you have not paid a penny and they believe her despite you trying to prove it otherwise with bank statements
But it’s only a caution I add….it certainly would be so much better if you could sort it out between the 2 of you and keep the filth scumbag vermin CSA out of it.
    Gonk
