If I get married, will our child benefits be taken into account?

Hi there me and my fiancé r wanting to get married however she has become reluctant because she thinks our child benifits and family tax credits will get taken into account aswell. I have a 4 year old daughter from a previous relationship and that goes thru Csa

  1. Tax credits only get taken into account if the NRP is the highest earner in household, ie if your new partner earns more than you they dont take it into a CSA calcualtion for your child with your ex. However Kay is right – it doesnt matter if you are married or not, if you live together then thats fair game for CSA and they will take it into account if you are the highest earner. Only way to get round it is live seperately which some people have been forced to do which is bonkers
