I was told I had to pay £1 million!
my other half has been harrassed by csa for years. child now 23 and paying for leaving ex and not getting receipts of payments. when out of work told them but still billing (lost paperwork) got told in 1 letter bill was now 1,000,000,000 yes thats right 1 million and some nearly topped us both over edge. councillor and cab help later no better still have to pay. offer unacceptable was told taking to court. heard nothing for 3 years then got told taking 500 pounds per month for 27 month got no say. now working wife and 4 other dependents to support with 16 pound per month after bills what a joke. all this cos they didnt ammend when out of work years ago.
what a joke dont see why should carry on if it wernt for my wife and kids.

for that price you can go out and turn yourself into a girl and phone the csa and tell them to find a man…lol
OMG! I thought my partner’s debt letter at £49000 was bad!!!
Get a copy of your file from the CSA, you’ll be amazed what you will find on there that the CSA say they have lost. Only costs £10 and could be well worth it.
Keep fighting them. We got MP involved and their involvement was really minimal. We have just been successful with an Appeal so worth doing.
When you were out of work were you in receipt of benefits? If you were then the CSA have to reverse any maintenance assessment in place. That legislation came in in 2010.
and if you are paying arrears of maintenance you can argue with the CSA to have repayments reduced. Although they will initially take 40% of your salary this can be reduced if their is financial hardship in your home. They can’t take into account your wife’s income for this calculation.
