I thought this was supposed to be about helping the child

The father was paying only £5.00 per week for my child, he did not pay for a year so ran up a debt which in the time he did not pay he was working.

My child is now 8 and hes debt finish next year. The CSA have only been on hes side they have reduced hes payments twice without asking me but TELLING me that is what they will do!

The money is a deductions of earnings but i am not getting regular payments. He has now paid short but again the CSA are sticking up for him and using excuses. This time they have been bloody rude. I am ringing them nearly every 2 weeks and are on there for at least 25 mins so this cost me money.

Why is the CSA on the absent parents side and not looking after the child in the case. My payments are all over the place. I think this is all totally unfair this supposed to be about the child!

  1. It’s about time the nrp was stuck up for by CSA staff, it’s women like you who feed the need for this abhorrent place to continue, since you get the benefits etc for the child think yourself lucky you get anything you greedy cow, sounds to me like your out for yourself, have you ever thought about speaking to your ex and asking what he can afford to give the child, maybe the name of the place should be changed to greedy mothers support agency

  2. I agree with Lisa well said. I’m a nrp of 2 my ex don’t work gets all the beniffets under the sun and is trying to get more off me. Don’t get me wrong I tried to reason with her saying that I will give her 200 pounds but she will need to wait till I can find somewhere closer to work and cheeper to live so I want out of town to live back with my mum and dad tell I found somewhere. Once I did I conteced the ex to say I’m better off but no she what’s Togo to the csa. I think the csa should b scraped and go back to the courts like it used to bso thank you LISA mwah

  3. I’ve just got off the phone after speaking to a very robot-like person from the CSA. I havent missed a payment in over 13 years and, since my eldest daughter left school, have even been paying more than the CSA say I should. My other daughter is now 18 and doing well and working part-time. I have recently found out that since she started this weekend work, her mother has been making her buy her own school and leisure clothes or funding anything else. What I wanted to do was direct some of that money to my now adult daughter to spend on these things but the CSA say that it has to go to her mother (presumably to spend on herself). The advice I got was it isnt their job to say what she spends the money on or to ensure that my daughter is provided for and that I should reduce the payment down to the minimum and pay the difference to my daughter and write to my MP. When I asked for a note to be recorded on my file to say that I had raised these concerns, she told me there was nothing she could do. This isnt about helping and supporting the child just the mother!

  4. Kim, if it a Deo the money gets taken from his wages by the CSA. The CSA work out the amount according to income.. Your ex does not calculate this… The length of time and regularity of payments is again down to the CSA. The CSA hold onto the money as long as possible from your ex and thousands like him to cream off the interest… Believe me the CSA NEVER stick up for the NRP. Also you write he was only paying £5.00 per week?. At this time he must have been unemployed and on the breadline… Do you have any morals?. Speak to this poor chap and give him a break…

  5. Why would they “ask” you, the money paid by your ex to the CSA who then pass on his money to you is not guaranteed. This is the same as when you were with your ex, he could have lost his job or got a bonus. I think you are placing too much expectation on the CSA and it would be better for your child if you focused on your own full time work.
