I moved away and have built up arrears of £5,000 – is there anything I can do?

Hi, If anyone can help I would appreciate it.

OK, I left the UK three years ago and didn’t inform the CSA about it. I want to return home and phoned the CSA today to see if they would re-open my case upon my return. To my horror they informed that as I hadn’t told them the debt continued to mount up. I apparently now owe a staggering 5000 pounds.

Is there anything I can do? Will it be wiped out in 2014? Thanks in advance

  1. Why did you stop paying? Think YOUR child could manage on thin air? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! You sound a lot like William Rosslee? F/T employed & owes £5k – he’s getting his driving license revoked & also being sued. By me. This month 🙂 Good luck!

  2. right first thing first you need to write a letter (if theres any way of sending it recorded from abroad then do it) inform them you when you moved and you may need to give your new address at least that way no more arrears will build up. it would be advisable to stay away from the uk til at least 2017 as then there will be a greater chance of your debt being written off when csa3 is fully functional but even then its not a dead cert that they wil write it off but send the letter so no more arrears can build
