I interviewed for a job at the CSA

December 16, 2010

I had an interview with a company called Ranstad to work as a case worker for the csa. They need 55 staff to start this monday in Stockport in the old job centre. I arrived on time 4pm despite sarah not e-mailing me directions to the venue on my arrival i was met by Ruth who sat myself and another chap down to start our test part of the 3 hour interview; you read correctly 3 hours! it was unorganised and one candidate who had a later slot was making a big noise that she cudn’t do the calculations and it was mind boggling this woman was encouraged to stay and give it a go.

I was surprised at this and the next day i got feedback from Ranstad that i was unsuccessfull. Thanks Ruth for your inteviewing skills i have a good idea what sort of people you are looking for and thankfully it isn’t me.

That's what I get. Turned down cause the payroll dept don't want to deal with the childsupport office. And no valid drivers license they took away for punishment.

  • Peter Anderson says:

Not surprising, have you seen the way they threaten the wages staff. They send a letter requesting a complicated form to be completed and copies of the last three payslips to be attached. Send a fax a day later saying that they haven't received the information demanded and that you must fax it by return, with all sorts of threats contained therein and when they haven't had the fax a couple of hours later they're on the phone making threats! I know, I took one of the threatening phone calls, and they were not happy when I said the bookkeeper only works one day a month. They wanted her home phone number so that they could phone and threaten there and then. Any employer who has had any dealings with them will never want to deal with them again!

  • Lee Hughes says:

Yep, if your job isn't permanent and you have CSA issues then don't be surprised when your work dries up!!!

  • Phil Lee says:

As mentioned by others before, we should ALLl work together and bring down this shambles if not for our sakes but our childrens – would you want you kids to go through what we've been through – I for one know I wouldn't and will do anything within the law to end this nightmare organisation.

Oh Phil, one of the guys said he had a couple of Chieftan Mk11's going spare complete with driver etc. When are we visiting Dudley, Hastings, Plymouth etc? It is time to do to them what they have been doing to us and our children.

  • John says:

I take it that it was a short term contract, because they will be closing down soon, as the most incompetent, costly, quango the government has.

Hope the staff are all sacked and have a s_it xmas

  • Craig Bulman says:

It was Challengers MKII Peter LOL, we should hack all of the CSA employees bank accounts and empty them. That would give me soooo much pleasure

  • Melanie Steggar says:

The Child Support Agency are absolutely the worst employer to work for having worked there for 4 years. The MANAGEMENT don’t care about the staff and blame absolutely everything on the staff, the computer system doesn’t work and as for the telephony system thats a joke as well. The management are the most incompetent people ever to walk this planet. I am just glad i got out when i did. if the government don’t close this incompetent organisation down soon i will eat my hat!
