I have to give up my training in order to help the situation

Its not me directly with the problem, but my partner. He has three children from a previous relationship that after lengthy court battles he cannot see due to distance/finances/mother being difficult. He has been struggling to find long term work for a couple of years now but when he does work the CSA take so much from his wages that the amount left is not enough for rent or living. Although I hate to say it because I am a firm believer in anyone who can work should work, he is actually better of when on benefits.

When he tries to discuss his situation with the CSA they are unhelpful and unwilling to even consider reducing his payments to a more affordable level.

At no points has he wanted to shirk his responsibility to his children and it already breaks him that he doesnt see them.

This situation is leading to him being unable to sleep for worry of keeping a roof over his head and he has mentioned speaking to a councillor about depression.

I am extremely worrie/angry and am giving up my current training to find a job so I can try and ease the situation.

My dad told me when he got divored there was a means test that CSA could conduct for those struggling to make payments and that he and my mother went to court and agreed that CSA payments would not be necessary if he agreed to help with school uniform/food/trips etc.

I just want to help him as he says he has tried to discuss it with them and they just wont give him an alternative. he is currently seeking advice from CAB.

  1. Michael …I hear you man…it’s fucking disgusting that a system runs this way where it totally screws the Nrp and his new family but just rewards the pwc with money money money without looking into her finances…how for fuck sake can an ex be entitled to full CSA payments when she has a wealthy partner taking care of all her needs…how the fuck is it fair that a Nrp could be on the poverty line and still be expected to pay an ex who clearly don’t it the money ?
