I have nothing left to live on – where do I stand?

Just had a phonecall reguarding the payments i was making through csa to my ex partner. i have two kids with her and on the csa calculator it stated on the £871 a month i take home id pay £140 per month which i have, they are now saying from there calculations it should be £217 a month i should pay, taking into account my rent is £400 pm private rented, council tax is £109, £80 for gas and elec, £38 water and £12 t licence.

I live a 20 min drive from work and cant get there by bus no direct buses if i got bus would mean getting up at 4am and after bus a 45min walk, so i need my car, got told of the man on phone im living beyond my means! i dont drink at all or smoke either, can anyone enlighten me as to where i stand ie how much by law i should be left to live on, i really would be better of on benefits at this rate, thanks
