I don’t want my employer to be contacted by the CSA

My ex wife decided to go to the CSA even though I have my daughter 50% of the time & as she recives the child benefit I have no choice but to pay her, even though this was an amicable aggreement since she left in 2008, not sure why I have to pay her but its the law apparently, we eventually agreed that I would pay her £80 per month & she would drop the CSA claim, the CSA sent me a letter last week which I recieved on Friday 10th asking for my wage slips & as I had contacted them they contacted my employer without calling me, this is disgusting & clearly a breach of privacy, I dont want my employer knowinf my personal business, any help on this case or id i’m entitled to make a complaint. thanks

  1. Our pwc, despite years of paying her, went to CSA without saying a word to us !! She lives 100yds from our house!!They left it 14 months without contacting us ,we carried on paying her..we lost out ….none of it counted! They contacted my husbands employer like he was a father who wasn’t paying …highly embarrassing ..they don’t care ..they treat you like another errant father who’s wasn’t paying for his children!! Something needs to be done to make CSA fairer soon !! We have been treated very badly by them.

  2. Paul:- You are certainly entitled to make a complaint.
They should have allowed you sufficient time to reply and supply wage slips, before deeming you non-compliant and contacting your employer.
Send your letter recorded delivery and clearly marked for the attention of the complaints department.
Has your ex contacted them to drop the claim?
If so why are you getting letters from them?

  3. Paul, you are absolutly right, the CSA, after barely no discussion at all said that I was non-complient and slapped a DOE on me. It appears as ‘Court Order’ on my payslip, don’t know it that’s down to the CSA or my work finding the closest coding they have? Either way its a bit demeaning.
