I can’t afford my payments to CSA. Can they be reduced?

July 4, 2015

I am a 32 year old male and i have just found out recently that i have 16 year old daughter, my employer has been contacted by the csa to take 43% of my wage to make payments and they have been doing so for the past 4 months.

the problem i have is that the csa are back dating the payments for the last 16 years, most of them i was out of work or suffering from an illness. i really dont begrudge paying for my daughter but i am struggleing financialy because of the amount i get paid and what is taken out leaves me with a huge problem of paying rent and living. i am also struggeling to make my way into work on a regular basis due to a lack of funds. is there any way i can get the deductions from my wages reduced? because at the moment im finding it hard to cope…..

i want to pay for my daughter, that by the way i have only met once because she lives in dundee scotland and i am in london, but at the moment i am finding it hard to do so..

If it’s only recently then it’s a Big fat lie 😀 as CSA no Longer take yrs of back pay.. they can only date it from the day the claim was made by whoever made it.. arrears will only occur in that time frame

If they opened the claim against him when she was born but was unable to find him till now then they would say that the arrears would stand.

They would of closed the case after 12 weeks jessica without sufficient evidance to find him a new application would of had to be submitted

The mother can only claim from the day she made the application. …. csa can negotiate with the father to back date the claim and try manipulate him to comply but csa or now CMA can not peruse money from before a claim from the mother is made… advise to anon who posted this…. ask for a dna test for your own security…… from a mum of a 13 year old who’s dad did everything he could to get out of paying due to a controlling gf… now they are not together things couldn’t be better – ps.im now married and he is trying to do good

They could have been in a loving relationship…. don’t judge unless you know the full story…. guess you don’t like women. ..

This person has asked for positive feedback and obviously wants to work and support his child! Your comments are not helpful at all Mafioo. This country gives out benefits too easily to the wrong people so don’t encourage people who work and are doing their best to support themselves and their families, to sponge off the state! Like Kim says they probably had a loving relationship when the child was conceived and the mother should not have waited 16 years to start claiming. Thank you Kim as well for ur comments about ur situation!
