I am worried about slipping into debt due to these stalled payments
From October 2013 my 8yr old son has been living with me,his mother was arrested for child neglect.
In December 2013 I went to court and residency of my son was taken from his mother and given to me.I notified the CSA about this in October and asked to be re assessed as I am now a single parent and my payments to my sons mother should be cancelled.
I also pay maintenance to my other son by a previous relationship which I asked the CSA to also re asses.I appreciate I have changed jobs and my circumstances have changed, but I have informed the CSA about everything.
They told me to stop paying any payments until they sorted everything out for me,then they told me I owed about £600,then they told me I had overpaid by around £1000 which was somewhere in the system? but they couldn’t find exactly where.
I have phoned them on numerous occasions and all they say is don’t pay any payments until we have sorted it all out. This has been going on for 8 months now,I am really worried I will end up in debt through no fault of my own.
I have my son to provide for full time now and I need this sorting out but I just get passed from one person to the next and nothing has been resolved after 8 months, can anyone help me?

Ask for all the notes and calculations from your case, do this in writing via recorded delivery. Include in the letter you give them 28 days to provide this information. Then it’s head down for you do study and make lots of notes
My advice don’t ring them, send a letter outlining your concerns and also draft a copy to your mp to put a firm boot up their asses.
