CSA Mistakes

I always tell them of changes in my circumstances, now suddenly I owe £738

I always tell the CSA of change of circumstances so that they do not get me in dept. As usual I have told them of a wage rise and spoke to the head of the department who said that he would get it sorted and not get me in debt again this time round.

After a few weeks I got a cheque for about £20.80 and thought they had miscalculated previous to this and left it at that.

Now they say that I owe £738 even though they did not send me out a new standing order.

I have complained to the Dudley complaints team who have thrown out the case and say I have to pay about £200 a month more for 5 odd months so they can claw it back.

This system is not fair and an absolute joke, what else can I do.

  1. They have 104 weeks (2yrs) to reclaim the money from you. They did this to my husband, we booked a holiday and few weeks before we left they took over half his pay every week until we had no spending money. When we complained they took so long to answer we’d finished paying the arrears, but I was told by an advisor that you have 104wks to pay. So I would appeal, speak to your local MP 🙂

  2. Once they have their ‘hooks’ into you, they can ‘play you’ as they like. Don’t take anything this lot say as read.

Have you noticed that they are always right and never wrong! How do you know that you owe this money?

Have you asked for a breakdown of the ‘alleged’ arrears?

This ‘smacks’ of yet another example of an employee reaping the benefits of their bonus culture.

    Ask for proof.

  3. Thank you both for your comments, I have taken on board what you have said.

A break down is on it’s way to me, I am going to speak to the local MP and also I am looking at joining a Facebook movement to make us all heard with these jokers.

    Thanks

  4. I have asked for a breakdown of my arrears and the CSA said it could take up to 2 weeks to complete, in between this window I have had a call from them and told them I am waiting for this.

They told me that I still owed money but it was about £200 less than they told me last time, I said I am still waiting for the letter so I have the proof in front of me.
The breakdown letter is still not here and the 2 weeks have not yet passed and now they have sent me a letter saying that I owe £386 more than what they quoted last time and are threatening me with legal action.

This organisation is absolutely pathetic and are wrecking peoples lives when they have enough to cope with not even being able to see their children and it is all totally unnecessary.

  5. I have been told now that they are seeking to get their money direct from source and I have not even had a break down yet from them, this is making me really depressed to the point that I feel like giving up on everything now.

Surely there must be some one I can talk to about this.
