How can the CSA suddenly take so much?

My daughter turned 19 last january i have been paying arrears what i can afford out of the blue i get informed im to pay quadruple what i have been paying over 3 months to clear the balance.

I rang and told them i cannot pay more as im struugling however they have taking extra money a large amount from my wages without any warning.

They did not inform me. Can ther do this?

    Legally, the CSA must inform you of how much they intend to take before they take it.. Legally, the CSA must leave you with enough money to get by on (the max they should be able to take is 40%, I think, for normal payments). There’s lots of other things the CSA is legally bound to do but that doesn’t matter – the CSA IS ABOVE THE LAW. I am not exaggerating.

    The CSA took £800 about ten years ago out of my monthly salary. I couldn’t pay the rent, all my bills were unpaid and I had to pay the bank for going overdrawn without an arrangement etc etc. They shouldn’t be able to do it but they do. And they don’t care. What’s more they will never admit they are wrong or apologise, either.

    To answer your question – not only can the CSA do this, they do it on a regular basis. There’s many a person out on the cold, streets because of the CSA.

    Yes – they can and do whatever they want.
    They force many to play the system and get into illegal activity to make ends meet.
