The new CMS system works on the previous tax years system.. although I thought 7pounds is FLAT rate for under 100pounds of earnings a week or if on benifits? So not sure why u get 1.28p? Either way unles u can find out the exact start date his income roll and where he works. They can’t do nothing.. his wages has to of changed by 25% or more for them to review it as now they only review once a year.. employers only submitt tax forms once a year so his new job won’t even show up on the systems unles his new employer confirms he works there to them!
New scheme has not come out yet for those that were already with CSA, they will have a transition date, but it won’t be till next year some time. CSA has always used a 5% tolerance, not 25% (ie: the change reported must breach 5% difference net income). If they cannot find the info they need they have always relied on the tax figures from HMRC that they can get, and will use that. It is not once a year as you state, but it is not weekly either, there is a limit on the requests you can make (ie: possibly 3 months?) as it is assumed that these figures are accurate. Anyone suspecting that these figures are not accurate or honest, would be looking at possible fraud, but CSA will use the figure presented by HMRC as it is not up to that department to prove fraud, that would be a matter for the tax office.
