No effence but it does not cost 775 pound a month to look after a child be gratefull your getting something 50 pound is fair maybe 100 would be better but if he was on benafits you would only get five pound a week
775 a month?! What planet are you living on!!!
I’d be broke by nw if my child was to cost 775 a month I doubt I get that to live on foodwise for me and 4 kids
She didnt say she worked did she tho and a child does not cost that amount!! Csa won’t be the only money she gets
Im on same planet as you Vicky Rhoades lol x
i have me my oh and ow son on £600 a month for all 3 of us . god know what ur buying for it to cost that much just for a child . that sounds right for somoen that self employed as he want get taht every week cos he cant say he get payed every week cos needs to make sure he get the sales each week to even do that
An average of 775 per month, in what real world??!?!? Sound like she’s on the same planet as the CSA! Though the 50 per month is equally laughable. Yet another typical comedy moment from the CSA, what a joke.
Not too fair for the father to be laughing down the phone, but there could be many reasons, may be he is not a good father, or maybe you wouldn’t accept a reasonable amount and this is his payback. As I’m fully aware of how greedy a mother can be that could be a reason. Where on earth you arrive at £775 a month to raise a child I do not know. And as for being self employed, just because your Ex apparently earns £600 – £800 a week, it does not mean that that is all his money, he will have expenses.
According to the Daily Mail on 18/08/2013 and the Independent on the 19/08/13 the average cost of bringing up a child to 18 is 148000 pounds.
Google “cost of bringing up a child’.
That give a figure of 685 per month.
Divided by two that’s 342 each per month.
342 sounds more accurate when you account for the extra bedroom you need, heating, water, if you take them on holiday once a year etc and don’t get me started on how much they eat once they’re above the age of about 10 bless em.
But let’s not forget half of that needs to come from yourself!
If he is able to only pay that much he must be claiming to only earn about £500 a month (sure someone will correct me if I’m wrong). I wonder how much he’s declaring to the tax man??? Phone CSA tell them what you know and ask their advice on the matter.
Gloating doesn’t help + gives many of us NRP a bad name + your ex should pay what is due ….. That said it might make sense to look at where u do your shopping Waitrose might attract a better class of customer but isn’t as cheap as Aldi, Lidl + your local market. And I’m sure your kids look lovely but do they really need all that Superdry stuff ?
How do you know he earns that figure?, Be grateful that you’re getting at least something, self employment is hard graft and your estimated figure of what he earns is probably way off!
that’s what I meant bill, apologies got the figures wrong but 685 per month until their 18, like you say that’s still 342 a month each divided between parents, inland revenue have been contacted as he likes to lead the high lifestyle but doesnt want to compromise that for his child, hed rather go out or spend money on his dogs then pay for his child. £50 a month is a complete joke to anyone bringing up a child they will know.
why would I be greatful of getting anything, im after getting what he should rightfully pay, why should I pay for everything, that’s not right is it, why should a father who earns more than enough, not pay for his son!! I asked for some help and info that was all. very big of everyone poking fun, very adult. thank you to those that had something constructive to say.
lets be realistic im not asking for that amount each month im not stupid, but I think £50 a month from a father is a joke to pay for his sonwhen he can afford much more but just fiddles the system.
That much a month for a child .. Get real… I get nothing from my ex husband and I have a job that works around my daughter and I can assure you is doesn’t cost that much.. Have pride in yourself.. I have
Be grateful for what you got and stop moaning.
@ Bill….daily mail……ball shit!!! In the real world, most parents MAKE do with far far less a month for 1 child and rather comfortably. Besides that lets assume it does cost nearly £800 a month for 1 child …PMSL. This person writes as if it’s her ex’s responsibility to fund her this £775 a month, what about her input as it takes 2 to make a child so she should pay half of that total sum, but I bet she wouldn’t want to
Gonk
People seem forget that a majority of single parents get help from the government to help raise children…how does that figure work out when they get maintenance on top of their benefits?
