Had a mutual agreement with my ex but now the CSA are involved
Paid maintenance with a mutual agreement without fail for 17 years then last year my ex contacted csa they started to take £342 per month from me for one child, at this time me and my partner of 10 years had a child he is now 14 months old,the child to the previous relationship was 18 in july this year. csa told me 3 weeks ago I had one payment to make and close the case in another call they told me I would have to pay until 20years.
We have stuggled to make these payments because there is only one wage coming in I have made last few payments via credit card and now the lack of money is affecting my 14 old month .

Since Dec 2012 it is 20 years of age if they are in full time education.I’m an nrpp & this agency has believed the pwc saying we have arrears going back years we can prove that we paid her but they are saying the regular monthly payments have to be accounted for by the pwc …they could be debts that you are paying for that were left behind or anything ….WHAT!! they couldn’t , the divorce meant all debts were sorted,family home was sold,she even had a lumpsum payment! This could be verified if they would let us!!They have treated us appallingly.Our young son is left with us struggling to meet his own needs to pay for 19 year old not even attending the college course the pwc is saying she does!! We have been put under a tremendous amount of stress by this heartless agency ,our health has suffered .

The csa leave you wide open to the worst of scroungers, cant get my head around the goverment letting an 18 year old that has no intention of working and might never if money keeps getting handed to her ,because to be blunt the csa have given money to someone that can work and taken it off someone that cant Its had big affect on the way our son is growing up with a lot of stress from csa in the house and lack of money for him,try telling this to csa they are in a bubble they cant be human.
my son is going to college bassically to be his fathers pay check, but his reports since he has had him have been appalling, why cant the paying parent say this is not acceptable you are failing in order to finacially gain and why is there no voice in this half baked system to deal with this . can no one see what monster has been created and when will some one wake up to the cost every working person is pay and the amount should be staggered with age and at the age of 18 is where a line should be drawn on paying any support to parents and the money saved would be better spent on creating a scheme help the child not the parent.who now can earn a good living on this mindless set up.
Sorry the rules changed they have just done the same to my husband, you now have to pay until the child is 20 if you can call them a child. They are not a child after 18, you can vote in your own right as a young adult at 18 but the CSA insist you pay until 20 now.
