Fathers have no rights with the Child Support Agency
My ex wife left me with my son 10 years ago and I had to give up work to look after him. A claim was put in to the CSA however over the time and many frustating phone calls and letters telling me how much we should be receiving I have had very little.
My son has now gone to live with his mum and I do not have contact. However I have recieved a form to fill in for payment to my ex. After seeing my MP I recieved a letter saying they could look into the possibility of ofsetting what I should pay against her very large arrears.
Today, 28 10 10, I have recieved a calculation of my payments plus arrears and this starts on 7 11 10 taken directly from my wages. This has been calculated and set up without any information being sent from myself. I tried ringing at 7pm however there is never anyone there that can help with anything as they can not access the computers?
I am not going to leave this here and would like some advice for my next psible action

Hi,
Firstly you need to get a copy of Data Protection Files from the CSA. You’ll have to pay £10 for the privilege, but it should give all details that they hold on you.
Secondly – Ask for a complete account breakdown from the CSA – Remember to ask for everything in writing, sending all correspondence to them by recorded/signed for post (just in case they deny receiving it….which they will….)
Once in possession of the above, go to your MP again and get him/her to write/phone the CSA on your behalf. They have a much easier route to problem solving….
Also write a letter of complaint to the CSA about your case, detailing all errors etc and again send it recorded/signed for. I know it sounds stupid, but, if you have to be pro-active. Don’t bury your head etc, get things in motion straight away, that way they can’t say that you haven’t been co-operative etc. If you are pro-active, if it does get to court etc, you will have an audit trail to show that you are hiding from your responsibilities, but that you are highlighting the errors & incompetence of the CSA.
Keep a log of all communications with the CSA, and if they phone you, or you phone them….RECORD IT. You don’t have to let them know you are recording it, as long as it is for you. I.E. not to be published etc…..unless….it is deemed to be in the public interest. However, just keeping a private recording of their lies….and they will lie…is usually enough to throw back at them!! However, the best method of communication with the CSA is always get it in WRITING!!
As for the DEO, you won’t be able to stop this being put in place, and it can only be lifted by the CSA….THIS IS UNLAWFUL… but appears to be common practice with them.
You are in for a long, hard fight. Don’t let them get to you mentally, and don’t give up. They will eventually fall…….(hopefully soon….)

Ask to be transferred to the independent case examiners your Mp can arrange this Rosie Winterton (doncaster) helped me this should slow things down but act now ! ask for full breakdown of accounts the law says debt should be off set ! Good luck

well I am female and i am being hounded….i am expected to pay almost a grand by xmas which i don't have! Why do they not calculate things fairly….my ex don't even have a mortgage!!

my daughter was born 4 months prem and weighed in at a woppin 1lb 10 oz and her lowest weight was 1lb 2 after complications. id only known her mother ( my ex ) a month before she fell unplanned pregnant. YES I NO ABOUT CONTRACEPTION BUT SHIT HAPPENS. anyhoo after 5 months my ex gave birth 2 a little girl LAUREN ELISABETH THOMPSON ( MY BEAUTIFUL 7 YEAR OLD PRINCESS ). 2 CUT A LONG STORY SHORT. My daughter was born in ormskirk and immediately moved to manchester as no spaces in alder hey at liverpool. at the time i was a sales rep and had 2 try and work and support my ex as she only worked part time. as my daughter was in an incubator and it was my first child ( my exs second ) i wanted to be there as much as could possibly just to see my new little, sick creation that i wasnt expectin 4 another 4 months. i was only allowed to put my finger in her little tiny hand after rigorous washin and alcohol rubs so not to give her infection. I talked and spent hour after hour talkin to my little girl hopin i could work magic to make her better whilst my ex stayed in the ossy room. anyhoo we split up as soon as lauren came out of hospital and newspapers sweeped my ex and called my lauren a miracle baby which of course she was. i got left out like i never existed and was so proud of my little fighting daughter and my ex did it 2 piss me off. after causing a fuss about it and looking after my daughter EVERY WEEKEND while my ex got friendly with people undesirable suddenly she made accusations that stuck whilst i had my girl and she turned up at 4am and they took my girl off me, arrested me whilst i was changin her nappy and let my ex take her home full of alcohol and making pissed up statements. i never saw my girl 4 6months and she forgot who i was and my whole family were there on that first contact which was the most emotional experience i had 2 DATE ( IT GETS WORSE ). I COULD GO ON 4EVA, i was fightin through court to see my girl whilst startin a new job. 5 months into the job and payin court and solicitors fees i started getting 40% of my wage took out without my notice. it just said court. i was left with £600 a month 2 pay rent £500 travel fuel £250 a month. thats without livin expenses. i wrote to my MP AND HE WROTE A LETTER 2 THE CSA and they just told him and myself there entitled. This sent me into severe depression and i lost my job, nearly commited suicide and there was no movement with the csa. i thought id nearly paid the outstandin balance i owed but have recently startred new employment and they have continued my payments from when iwas iworkin and say i owe them thousands as i never informed them which i did. back 2 square 1 sum1 help me.
were do i start my daughter came from a one night stand most fathers would do a runner but all ive wanted is to see my little one last year 2011 i was allowed to see her she was born in 2008 i got to see her for 8 months in 2011 but then she started in 09 2011 with her ground rules so now the c s a are involved i gott pay 585 arrears and 58.32 quid a week on the regular side plus my rent 75 a week car and food the mother don’t do shit she stays on benefits oh and my solicitor aint cheap all this coz i wont listen to her bullshit now she is calling me a shit dad etc etc etc it really aint fair
csa on my case big time, i owe £3500 in arrears, working my ballocks off to get it paid, til i took the paternity test which proved i was,nt the father, still waiting on geting my money back off them, not even an apology, fuck,n wankers but i have them in court next month as failing to pay me back, so all mothers and fathers out ther think twice before you hand any money over as ur fucked if u do or don,t, try and sit tight and give them fuck all cos ther not to quick in handing any money back
