Ex partner avoiding all calls and letters
Please share my story – I have been going throught he CSA for a year now and the ex has ignored all calls from the CSA and from myself including emails. He has had no contact with his poorly little boy for a year also. He will not pay for his son at all despite all the letters, even from myself.
Every time I ring the CSA they are no further forward despite telling them his address they insist on visiting his mum and dads address even though he isn’t living there. (He owns the house he is living in and registered on the electors at that address).
I must add when I rang them last week they said they couldn’t find his mum and dads house despite it being on the main road and a huge house with substantial amount of bedrooms.
He is a high earner, so why on earth can’t they track him down? I could go over myself to his address which I may just do to confirm where he is living ….. I don’t need any extra powers to enable me to find him, so why can’t they?
It doesn’t take a year to get to thew stage of going out to an address even though it is the wrong one

In a word the CSA are hopeless! The same happened to me as a PWC that I would give them addresses etc. but they would have to clarify it was a “confident address”. Once I got a copy of my file I noticed that they had put instructions through for special trace with the information I provided but some case worker had put back “insufficient evidence to proceed with trace” – 3 years of records they put that on.
11 years I never got a penny despite the information I gave them and eventually withdrew the case.
Admittedly now living with a NRP is much harder than when I was a single parent!
That’s terrible and the father to your child should be ashamed of themselves! My ex is registered on the electoral roll at his home address and owns the property and has been registered there since 2006 so as far as I can see shouldn’t be too difficult to go and knock on the door and find out which they have assured me they are going to do. If not I will go and do it myself.
So why on earth are they not making contact?! That is crazy. Really the CSA make situations alot worse and do not do their job. He is on the electoral roll what more information do they need!
My apologies he has been registered on the electoral roll since 2004 not 2006 there which was when he purchased the property. He is also registered as a director of a company at the same address. I have no idea why they haven’t been to this address. They reckon his mum and dads address is a confirmed address and they have to visit to confirm that he doesn’t live there. Wouldn’t have been so bad had they found the property when they visited but apparently they were unable to find the house, which anybody could find its on the main road and is a huge house. I cannot quite believe they even visited. Oh well hopefully they will find it next time or maybe take a sat nav with them lol 🙂
WOW….this is far too similar a story to mine except my sons father is apparently broke, only earning £23 a week! but CSA will not send anyone to his address because they do not believe he lives at the address they have for him and they would like ME to find out his address. And if i feel he is working on the side, I need to notify the tax evasion helpline to have THEM send someone out to him as it is then not the CSA’s concearn. But it then takes atleast 3 months for the hmrc’s systems to update with the new information! so far after 18 months…..we have recieved 2 payments, the last one was 1 year ago!
Hey, this sounds similar to me too.
Avoids everything but if he is not responding, they can arrest his wages. In my case they dont visit the houses, they send letters and they get so long to reply!
Take a different strategy…. Tell them exactly where he works, they drag their feet but in past 3 months ive finally got to the stage of a letter telling him if he doesn’t respond in 7 days then they will atreat his wages and the employers cannot say no unless it’s the armed forces.
Phone them every 2 week’s to keep on top of them as they definatly need it xxx
