Ex is self employed with own house and two cars, yet I get practically nothing
I have had an open case with the CSA for the last 3 year. I have had the minimum amount of £5, on and off as my child s father has been on and off of benefits, which I know, was to allow him to get legal aid to take myself to court continuously for access, which he has always had!!!
My last payment was in September 2012, he has alleged been off the benefit but yet still the CSA have had no contact with him even though they have his address and at least one place that he works. You phone this place on 01224 213808, If he is not there, as he rents a room, he can be called on his mobile, which the person on the other end of the phone will give you. You can the make an appointment, I think the going rate is £45 per hour!!!
What it is I don’t understand is I have given all the information and yet still I wait!!! He owns 2 cars and a Motorbike, owns his £175000 bungalow pretty much outright, yet still I only get £5 every now and again to raise our daughter. He is also a self employed Electrician and has been doing that job also. He even has his own web page, which is so easy to bring up, yet the CSA still have received NOTHING from him detailing anything.
I have never asked for anything other than what I am entitled to for our daughter, but I believe and feel that there is no effort being done when there is so much information been given.
I have had to enter into a trust deed, as I have been ill so much this last past year, the company I worked for did not pay sick pay, and the bills have spiralled out of control.
Something needs to be done, either for male or female but people are suffering, when they are relying on help that should be there for them.

Since your ex has come off benefits has there been a new MC calculated? If not you need to contact them again and ask if he has been asked to confirm his employment and income – if he has been issued with the appropriate letters and has not responded they can go direct to his employer for this information and can issue a DEO if your ex has arrears and is not making payments.
If there are several changes to be made on a case this can delay bringing the case up to date as all changes must be processed on the same day and as such they must have all the information for all the changes before they can do this.
If you have information on all his employment(s) and you provide this to the agency it can often speed things up as trace action can take some time.
If the CSA are not doing what they should on this, complain in writing, go to your MP, see if it can be taken to the Criminal Compliance Unit if you have proof of his employment, earnings, etc. Join the facebook groups for free advice and support, many have been helped by this – only this week – someone said that the advice given had helped her start getting payments again. I am the original authors husband and Stepfather to said child. I would just like to add that this man does his utmost not to pay a penny towards his daughters upbringing, I love the child as my own and have no complaints paying anything for her, but as her father he should be outed as firstly a benefit cheat and dodging his responsabilities.
I have on many occasions posed as different people and called Serendepity where this man rents a room to perform acupuncture at £45.00 a pop and on every occasion I am given his phone number to call him and book a time. I called 6 times one week under the guise of different people and each time I got an appointment. Even when he was on a benefit I called 5 times in a week and got appointments, but the lady had to text him as he had difficulty hearing over the phone, this was probably his lame excuse for being on a benefit at the time, even though he has had the same hearing problem for years and has had no problem working, until that is he needed legal aid to take us to court every other week seeking more and more contact, even though he had contact anyway.
Question I pose is this. If I can call his place of work and can get all this information from some simple calls. How have, a government backed agency, who have had all the relevent information, for at least two years, not been able to do the same. I thought this governments burning issue was to deal with these types of people. My backside they do, the CSA could care less. They are unhelpful, inneffective and inept, but then again what more can we expect from a government agency.
