Ex is asking for more money

I have put my full situation here before so the basics are i am paying £99.58 a week to the CSA for 1 teenage daughter (on CS1 rules). My net pay is £352 a week and i also have a mortgage to pay.

About six months ago after saving for ages and my family giving me some money i managed to get a new computer. I offered my ex the old one as i thought it may help our daughter with school. She refused saying that she didnt want our daughter going on the internet.

I subsequently sold the computer and used the money to pay off some of the arrears that the CSA claimed i had.

Now 6 months later my ex rings me.

She says that due to our daughter starting her GCSEs next school year she needs a computer and internet at home. She then said that as we are both responsible for her i should pay half to the price of a computer.

I am sorry but i cannot afford this as i am already in debt and am barley managing to keep my mortgage payments up.

  1. This is exactly what the CSA payments are for…tell her to bugger off. I can hear all the women out there screaming, saying..it’s for the kids clothes!! ( read hair cuts, holidays & entertainment for the PWC !!). Like you my ex spends all the CSA money on her mortgage & nothing ever gets to the kids :-(… I know it’s hard on the daughter, but she’s gonna have to miss out due to her mothers greed….simples.
