Do I have to continue my CSA payments to his mother when he is living in local authority care?
In short, I had a one night stand several years ago now. The woman in question had the baby, and has since had several others by different men. The kids have been taken into care by the local authority and are living there with the mothers consent. My child, which is my only concern in the situation, does not want to see me, but I’m expecting work to be done on this.
My question is, do I have to continue my CSA payments to his mother when he is living in local authority care? I don’t dispute I should pay, just want it to go to the right place.

if your child is in full time care of the local authority then you are not liable to pay maintenance to the mother. Contact the CSA and advise that the child is in care, provide the name and contact details of the social worker dealing with your child and they can confirm the date the child was taken into care. The case will then be closed as per the date the child was taken into care.
Good luck in establishing contact with your son
