Divorced with two children under the age of 16
I have recently come to the end of a horrible divorce.
I was so nervous that by the end of a nerve racking final hearing I came to realise that there had been no mention of maintenance, dispite me asking my barister to includ this in court. My ex husband and I had agreed to have shared custody for our children prior to the final hearing. After the order had been drawn I approached my ex egarding some sort of maintenance as i will not be able to manage financially.
He told me that the order has been drawn and that he dose not have to pay anything to me or our children because we have joint custody. Is this so?. He earns £80.000 per annum and I £9.850 per annum if i applied to the CSA would i be entitled to recieve ant support from my ex or would i be wasting my time. Please advies as I am really worried about how i will cope.

Hi CHERYL,
You can apply to the CSA for child support, if you can not reach a private agreement with your ex.
Any shared care will be taken into account when they calculate liability.
