Daughter is working but I am still paying the CSA
I have been paying my ex through a mutual agreement for 16 years, when my daughter turned 16 and left school I was advised to stop paying and did, and informed my ex, maybe a little green.
The next thing I had the CSA on the phone saying they where going to do a DOE unless I gave them all of my details. I did this without hesitation and they now rip me off to the sum of £305 per month.
Like most people I have another child a mortgage and bills to pay etc. Recently I have been informed my daughter has two payed jobs and can prove this. her mother and husband have 3 properties between them and a very good job each. Yet she still claims benefit for my daughter, how is this?
Does anyone else feel like they are just being stolen from? The CSA informed me as soon as my daughter started working I would stop paying, this is not correct, it all goes on whether benefit is being claimed or not. This still is so surely this is fraud, benefit fraud have been informed but are not bothered. I have also been told by the CSA that my daughter if she wanted to could just work 16 hours per week and I still have to pay with no reduction to my payment.
Lets see what happens.

Is your daughter still in F/T education (24+ hours a week) OR registered for an approved training course?

if your daughter is in full time non-advanced education or approved training scheme and working evenings/weekends (as many hours as she wants) you would still be liable to pay CM for her.
if your daughter is not in full time non-advanced education or approved training scheme and your ex continues to claim CB for her then you need to report this to the fraud dept at the CB office. Once CB is ceased you should inform the CSA and they will close the case back to the week the CB is stopped.
Having recently discovered that my 19 year old was living away from home, working and in non advanced education, and yet I am still paying child support. I informed the CB office. They are investigating.
The reason that I mention this, is because was informed that there is an information ‘Gateway’, between the CB office and the CSA. This gateway allows the CSA to check if CB is being paid. However, it appears that the CSA don’t bother checking it, because they are happy continuing to steal money from the NRP, irregardless of the circumstances.
Having found out about this info, I have written to the CSA and asked them to periodically check to see if CB is still being paid in this case, as the PWC is NOT declaring the childs true status, in order to gain financially. It is fraud by any other means.
I hope that this information may help others on here, in similar circumstances as their children come to an end of CB payment.
