CSA want fifty grand after 14 years

March 9, 2010

I have a 17 year old child and at the age of 2 i split up with my ex and the csa got involved, so my ex wrote a letter to the csa saying she didnt want them involved, we would sort out our own arrangments. Which worked fine, then 15 years later a brown envelope came through the door demanding 50 thousand pound – which i ignored.

Now they threaten me with jail. No passport and no licence, but one good thing if they lock me up it costs the tax payer around 900 pound aweek to keep a prisoner so good luck csa lock me up.

was your ex on benefits at the time the claim starts, if so it was not her discretion to have the CSA involved.

Having said that, I find it hard to believe that it has taken them 15 years to trace you. Have you asked for their justification and on what basis they have calculated the claimed CM owed?

hi yeah she was on benifits and still is and also she has another child with someone else age about 12 and also she works 16 hours aweek and has a boyfriend who helps support her but after she sent a letter saying we will make our own arrangments i havent heard a thing from the csa for 15 years !!!!! im in the process of getting a template to send the csa and my mp to help me i have ignored the letters i had sent me in the last 3to4 weeks so i havent spoken or replied to the csa

As ‘Brokenfather’ has said, as your ex was on benefits, they would have had no preference whether the CSA was involved.

Are the arrears are based on a penalty assessment? If so, they may well be over inflated. Penalty assessments can be changed into proper assessments, which may considerably reduce the alleged arrears amount.

Even if the agency are successful with committal, the arrears amount will still remain and the agency would still seek for them to be paid.

If one of the templates was a Data Protection request, then that would possibly assist with your case – be sure to check if a penalty assessment is in/ has been in place.

hi ive sent of a letter to the mp and also sent in templates to the csa to sort out those money grabbers i will rather go to prison than pay the csa a penny it will cost them more with baillifs and prison fees in the end because wat else can they do to me what ever they do it costs them money on paper i own nothing

  • chall says:

    Hiya,

Yes, gaining the assistance of your MP can be benificial.

    – As for the other templates you say you have sent to the CSA, I am unfamiliar with what they could be.
