CSA used as a weapon

The “Ex” used the CSA as a weapon. The agency took 18 months to reach an “assesment”, then told me I owed them 6500 pounds, in back payments !
( the bill for which was sent on christmas eve 1994…)

I was living on 70 pounds a week then, and trying to pay my lawyer so I could keep contact with my son. I had no savings.

In reply to the CSA, I submitted evidence that the Ex was a best selling author, and that her books were published in the USA. Needless to say, she did not disclose her considerable earnings ( in a USA bank account ) to the agency.

Being that this was ouside the CSA`s “tick the box ” culture, they ignored the evidence for eleven years, and continued to wage war against me by bombarding me with letters, demands and threats, sometimes every day.

I answered every one of them, and my letters were systematically ignored.

I refused to pay their self-made demands ( pounds 38,000,) and it finally ended up in court with the CSA official being hung out to dry by my barrester ( I should mention that the CSA guy [ hello Mr Jones.. ] tried to walk out of court just before the hearing, claiming he “did not have the paperwork “. He was promptly arrested by the court ballif, and the case proceeded there and then. He was so utterly incompetiant that the court threw out the case, and awarded costs to me ( BTW, they never paid..)

In spite of that, the CSA continued to harrass me, even when I became seriously ill in 2004.

My partner left me because of the strain of seeing me having to deal with daily letters from the C.S.A. I have not been able to cope with her loss.

The terrible thing was that my Ex read every word of my CSA counter-claims to my young son, and throughly poisoned his mind against me.

In desperation, I left the UK in 2006.

The CSA, and it`s successor, are an impediment to natural justice, and their actions result in children being harmed emotionally, and the CSA unwittingly encourages Parential Alienation Syndrome – which is now recongnised as form of child abuse.

The CSA has nothing to do with the wellbeing of children, it is a cash-cow created by the government of Maggi Thatcher, the income of which goes to the exchequer.
The system was a botched fusion taken from an Austrailian model, which in itself, failed.

In the UK, harrassment from the CSA has caused hundreds of suicides, and a considerable number of murders.

There is only one conclusion from the history of this agency. It has failed.
It should be promptly abolished and matters of child support( and contact ) should given back to the courts.
