CSA told ex not to pay me direct, then they failed to me at all!

May 9, 2012

I am £700 in debt because of the CSA. I turned to the CSA to get some sort of security of the payments after the father of my child missed payments and seemed financially irresponsible! He usually paid on the 36th of every month £330. He missed a payment in December and January so I filed a claim January 26th.

He, scared, paid me on the 27th and me not knowing the process, did not think the claim would be taken further as I had not filled out the form and sent it back. I left it and my ex paid again in february. At the end of March he was told by the CSA that £660 had been taken from his employers. Both confused by the sudden contact by the CSA, we frantically tried to clarify, I had been paid and to give the money back to him.

The money was given back no problem. He was also told not to pay me anything in March as it would be taken in April as they work in arrears. so far, I get it, not happy that I did not receive any money but understood. I then got a letter of payment schedule, saying i was going to get paid on 31st march (er already gone), then on the 1st May and then the 31st May. So far I have not recieved anything and they have now said i will recieve the first payment on the 8th May due to clearances. I understand all the clearance stuff and the one month in arrears business side of it, but I have been left worse off, with no money since february. It is a joke.

They told him not to pay for march as i would get it in april, but i am not getting it til 2 weeks into may, that is more than one month arrears and has left me nearly 700 pounds out of pocket, in debt and unable to live our lives! My ex is laughing at me and looks all smug as if to say, well you wanted to go through the CSA and now he has had 2 months off and gone on holiday with the money he has saved! I am so deflated and depressed.

So does he have a deo in place? And csa hold onto money in high interest accounts, hence holding onto it. I would complain in writting and get some explanations to why the are holding onto monies or telling him he gets a break, sounds liking he paid you an overpayment, but can’t be sure of this, as never known csa to tell an nrp not to pay???

Quote Moo Katie “I had not filled out the form and sent it back.”

How have the agency manage to get all the info they require pertaining to your case?
