CSA supposed to review our case

In the year 1996 me & my husband divorced. I had to claim income support which automatically involves CSA. For many years CSA tried to chase my ex-husband for payment for our 2 sons. Self employed so they cannot actually do anything!!!! Not a problem for me i wasnt interested in his money, after all i wouldnt receive any..

Anyway a few years passed & he had a child with someone else & so did i.. Few more years passed, 10 to be exact & me and my ex-husband got back together, we re-married 2008. We had another child together..

NOW…. Current situation is that he works full-time the CSA take £398.00 from his wage.. They havent taken into consideration the fact we have another child & that my husband is bringing up the son that i had with a former partner..

I actually receive £76.00 a month of this CSA money.. Why i asked them why, we are together.. I was told they would look into the situation and get back to me by august 2011, im still waiting… They havent actually looked into his situation of being married with 4 children, bills & a mortgage to pay. They just took it that he was a single man…

CSA are a joke!!! I keep phoning them and still no joy..

  1. get on to NACSA under exceptional circumstances the csa can write off all arrears owed to secretary of state and getting back together with the pwc is one of those “exceptional circumstance” . go to the national papers about this too.NACSA are excellent and will beable to help you sort this out, you also need to close the case with the csa

  2. Prob with NACSA is that they charge. You can do things without paying. You can find a Solicitor and get legal aid (only some sols) please join the facebook groups Child Support Agency Failings and others with free advice and support. Good Luck.

  3. Legal Aid is not available for Child Support Agency problems so I would be intrested to find out which Solicitor Karen is talking about. Althought some facebook groups offer good advice its free and not accredited so be very careful. If you are looking for good legal advice about your CSA problems I would stay away from Facebook groups and have a good shop about to find one of the specialist orgs and not just stop at NACSA.
