CSA still taking payments even when son left education
I have payed child support to my ex for 15 years now since we split up. I have always paid via straight from my wages and I have never been out of work. In February 2011 my son turned 16 and then in May 2011 he left school. He started work in June 2011 as an apprentice and the day he started work I happily rang the child support agency to inform them of all this information.
It is now end of November 2011 and the payments are still being taken from my wages even though they have told me it should stop.
How do I get this to stop and will I be reimbursed for the payments I have payed extra.

Mp time, csa are just to incompetent to do anything…write a letter to csa, send it recorded with a time scale to get back to you and email your local mp with what is happening to give this agency a boot, make sure they don’t come back at you with arrears. Join our forum on fb if you have an account under corruption of the csa, guys on there with lots of advice. Good luck.
Before you go wasting your MPs time (people on here need to stop being so quick to encourage others to go to their MP without thinking first, it’s not helpful!), establish what they are taking and why. They will continue to take regular maintenance payments until Child Benefit stops being paid to the PWC, could she still be claiming? If you are no longer liable to pay regular maintenance, could there be arrears on your case? If so, you will be liable to pay until they are cleared.
Don’t just jump to start complaining to your MP or anyone who will listen like some people on here will encourage you to do, firstly call the CSA and ask why they are still charging you. If they haven’t checked yet to see if Child Benefit is still in payment, ask them to do so immediately and, if it is no longer in payment, ask them to ensure your liability is ended from the date child benefit ended. If your ex is still claiming child benefit fraudulently, report her.
Update:
Right I telephoned the CSA and they verified that the child benefit payment stopped on 5th September 2011.
I asked why they are still taking payments from my wages and they claim it takes 105 days to process ha ha 105 days to stop taking a payment; funny doesn’t take 105 days to start taking the payments.
Anyway 105 days goes back to November not September 5th so again I am still in limbo.
P.s. 105 days is up on 27th February they say.
Also no arrears on the case as I requested a year ago all accounts for my case to ensure there were no hidden extras.
Hi,
Please confirm;
Is this the only case you have with the CSA?
If another case was opened, did it migrate you to CS2 (opened after 03/03/03)?

Hi,
I would advise you speak to your payroll dept to ascertain whether they have received a discharge notice from the DEO for yourself. If not, call the CSA get them to check your balance is nil when they confirm this ask them to fax a notice to your employer.
I came across this myself, I called the CSA on my payday and to my surprise I was informed that my balance was nil and that thta month would be my last payment. I immediately called my payroll dept who informed me that they had not received notification of this from the CSa and would therefore continue to make the payments until this point. I then returned the bcall to the CSA to inform them of this and they said they would fax over a discharge notice to my employer, I asked that they fax over a copy to myself as I work in a project away from the H.O. This was done the same day and the payments ceased immediately. I would ask for your payroll to give you a copy of the discharge once they receive it. I am not sure how you stand re: getting money back from them as we all know here the CSA are a law unto themselves.
Hope this helps and good luck with getting some money back.
