CSA says I owe them back payments

May 26, 2010

When i first started paying my ex through the CSA (which i felt was my responsability) things went fine, when i left the army and was waiting to start a new job they stopped my payments, i then had a temperary job whilst waiting to start at my present job. All information was passed onto the CSA, via letters and phone calls. They informed me they would be in touch… i heard nothing from them although i was paying my ex directly whilst waiting for them to sort themselves out.

Six months of me writting and phoning i gave up bothering. Around a year later they informed me that i owed them £10,000 (or there abouts, i argued this but lost so whilst paying maintenance to my ex i was also paying off the other money owed to them at £13 a month.

My 2 children are now 21 & 19 last week i recieved a letter from CSA informing me that i owe them £10,300 and want it paying or they will involve the courts.

    Hi Jim Harrison,

Was the payment method for CSA, pay direct to the parent with care?

When you initially argued the arrears figure, did you apply for your Data Protection File and a complete account breakdown?
