CSA say I can’t complain unless I appeal within 3 months of decision

I separated from my wife 12 years ago and paid for my son through CSA direct from my Police wages ( soft target ), they made many many errors and this landed me in court. The judge took one look at the case and threw it out ( the CSA had frozen my bank account and wanted to clean out was little was in there ). The judge said “what are you doing to this man, this is the stuff newspaper articles are made of”.

So they went away with their tales between their legs.

However, I continued to pay through my wages until my son had left education and was 17.

Then the CSA ‘found’ £3000 of arrears from somewhere, so I paid that until my last payment in June 2012… Yippee..

All this time, I would give my son regular pocket money and take him to the Match on Saturdays etc etc.

About November 2012, I receive a wodge of paperwork from the CSA stating my ex has appealed against decisions in 2002, 3, 4, 6, 8, 9, 10.

So I rings them to find out what it was all about, they explain that my ex was not happy and had appealed. So I say, OK, I will also like to appeal about mistakes from years gone by only to be told I can’t because you have to appeal within 3 months of the decision. How then can my ex appeal from 10 years ago I ask…………

I’m told its because the CSA did not inform her correctly at the time and now they have, late 2012, she has appealed in time….WTF!!!!!

So far in the last week, I have received.

50 sheets of paper from them with 4 different phone numbers to ring and 5 different amount I now need to pay.

I had to leave the Police a few years ago due to ill health, my ex wife still works for them as well as running a child minding business, having rented properties and I would estimate about £80k going into her 4 bed detached house with a brand new Audi on the drive and a sports car parked next to it.

Something Aint Right

  1. I was of the opinion that once a decision has been made by the CSA, you have ZERO right of appeal!
