CSA refuses to reduce my arrears payments
The CSA is currently taking £790 per month of me leaving me with £1411 per month.
I live alone and am unable to survive on what I am being left with after paying my mortgage etc.
The amount is due to arrears but these were of no fault of my own.
I have ALWAYS paid by detachment of earnings which means that the CSA calculate how much I have to pay and the payroll company deducts it. I have NO control over either!
Due to a misunderstanding by my previous employer they were not taking the correct amount which has resulted in arrears.
While I am not happy with the fact the arrears have accrued I accept I have to pay them.
What I have asked the CSA to do is to stop or greatly reduce the arrears payments but extend the period they wish me to pay for until the debt is settled.
Something they are refusing to do.
I physically cannot survive on what I am left with!

Is your case calculated under old or new rules (opened before or after 03/03/03)?
How many children do you pay child support for?
Do any children live in your household?
You could try providing the CSA with a monthly incomings and outgoings sheet, showing your are unable a to manage financially and suggest a reasonable that you can manage – copy in your local MP, explaining the situation and request their assistance. Keep copies of everything and post signed for.

was the arrears due to maladministration by the CSA? or mistakes from your employer, either way you are due redress. contact MP and save everything you send in and recieve. Explain your circumstances and explain they must take this into account due to hardship suffered.
