CSA overrode original court order

My ex said he was self employed and earned 100 a week. The reality was he was earning 1000+ a week and the original court order was that he pay me 850 a month. We have a special needs son and I have to pay 800 a month for him to go to a special school which my ex didn’t approve of. He never accepted his sons difficulties.

The CSA cut my money to 275 a month and said they could not do any more as he was self employed. I worked full time and have 2 children but needed financial support and they just took it away, overriding the original court order.

  1. Why did you go to the csa or was it your ex? When csa get involved they can overide court orders that are over a year old….this is common knowledge.

I also agree with Sally that having your son properly assessed will get your son the help he needs…..maybe your ex disagreed with you and no longer wanted to foot the bill for a school he doesn’t approve of, isn’t that his right as a father?

Also being self employed nrps can disguise their income but you can have it looked into if you think your ex is living like he earns more but you will have to have sufficient proof of this.

  2. I had my son assessed many times and I fought the local council to get him help but in the end they would not provide the support he needed. My ex worked self employed at the same place for 7 years. His salary never changed. He went to the CSa out of sheer spite. He has never shown any interest in his sons education. My son has thrived with the special school and now has a viable future. Something he would not have if I’d left it to his father. Surely you put your child’s needs before your own

  3. And that is proper Bullsh*t that you pay £800 a month….be honest, who pays £800 a month? Do you work by any chance, are you claiming family tax credits and other benefits….and yet you want more!!

  4. Well you obviously don’t live in the real world. This was a specialist dyslexic school and these were the lowest fees in the country. Have you bought food for a family lately?, taken your kids to clubs, put petrol in your car? Paid your mortgage, gas, electric, water, council tax. And yes I worked. Every penny of my Salary went on my sons fees and getting him to and from school. As I said I would always put my child first. My ex put his substantial bank balance first and still does. Where is the morality in that.

  5. He went to the CSa not me. Some bloke in the pub told him how to do it and so he did. So no it’s not my fault. As I said I put the children’s needs first every time.

The court made the Order because at that time I had proof of income, 3 years later I don’t have access to that information. The CSa said it was a loophole that lots of wealthy men who are directors of their own company use and there was nothing they could do.

I had to sell our home to fund my sons fees in the end as I would not let him down
