CSA mistakes continue to grow

May 21, 2012

I made 2 new claims in early january of 2012. At present one of the claims is goin through ok (cross fingers) but the other has been a nightmare.

I have spoken to birkenhead office once again today, the claim im having trouble with , is in their words ” not showing on the system”.

It has been 12 weeks since i put the claim in and not getting anywhere. The advisor told me today firstly, you will have to make a new claim, wow i nearly threw my phone, i told her there was no way i was doin that as i already made a new claim. Then she stated to me after discussing with the team ” that they r looking into it with the new claims dept., which left me baffled. I asked her how long this would take and she stated around 6 weeks. How come? Its already been twelve.

She then said that when they contact the dad then the arrears would start. Oh my god, so ive waited 12 weeks after claiming and they havent even written a letter to him, so i said to the advisor “what about my arrears over the twelve weeks, who pays that, i put the claim in , its your fault if you havent contacted him”, so my baby daughter who is 6 mths has lost out on so many weeks arrears, I have today emailed a complaint, does this work? can anyone help as to where i go next and do i get my arrears back if its their fault??

Complaint in writing sent by recorded delivery, got to your MP, contact the ICE Independent Case Examiner, join the facebook groups Child Support Agencies and Failings and other groups too for support and advice, good luck.

    Amanda,

You need to find out exactly why your claim is not showing on their system.
Is it lost? – If it is, do NOT delay re applying.
    OR is there another reason?

A case commences once the agency have made contact with the non resident parent http://www.childmaintenance.org/en/about/standards.html

ICE will not be interested until you have received a final response from the CSA.

Chall is right, at this stage ICE won’t be interested.

Yes do complain, and copy your MP into it. Phone them daily, weekly, whenever you have time for an update.
