CSA minimum threshold too low
I have recently been reassessed by CSA and because I started a new business last year they required my tax return for the last financial year.
Because I am only just getting the business established, (which will enevitably benefit my son at some point), my income for last year equated to an average of £16.35 per week.
The CSA have decided that out of this I must pay £5.00 per week, as the minimum threshold is set at earnings of £5.00 per week.
It seems ridiculous to me that if you earn £5.00 per week, you have to pay £5.00 per week! Does anyone else find this rather odd?
There is absolutley nothing that I can do. CSA have me by the short and curlies. I want to be able to pay for my son, however £11.35 per week is not going to keep a roof over my head or allow me to grow my business for my son’s future?

I am in the same boat. Myself and my partner have started a business, she works full time and has been covering the shop while I’ve been in hospital. The CSA now wants me to pay £15 a week out of a £50 a week wage, (which I don’t always get) We jointly buy the children decent quality clothing and Clarks shoes and to the CSA I’m earning more than I say I am.
Please feel free to check my accounts etc is all I can say. I’d love to be earning more then that but in the real world it’s not possible.
