CSA leaves me almost nothing to live on

My ex partner decided when we split up to get in touch with CSA. They got in touch with me and asked for my details. After looking at what I earn,they based it on 1 payslip where i earned £188 or there abouts but i had put holiday pay through with that week so I had a bit of extra money.

I heard nothing for about 6 weeks then,without warning they just started helping themselves to it out of my wages,leaving me just 112.15 a week to live on as i am paid weekly. I rang them and they said they will take it for 6 weeks as it was in arreas. Nearly 3 months later,they are still taking money from my wages and for the past month or so,my ex says she hasnt received anything from them.

I really need help with this as I was told they would look at my wages week by week and take just 20% which they have not done. I also read recently that the CSA have made 100% of their target for the amount of money they should be getting,however,this has been taken from only around 45%-55% of their clients which to me sounds like I am one of the people getting screwed and paying for someone else’s kids as well as my own.

I really hope you can help in some way because so far,I havn’t been able to get any help with reducing this,dispite countless phone calls an emails which just fall on deaf ears,speaking of which,after hearing no response to my emails,i finally get a letter claiming they asked for information to re consider my claim but I never received anything by post,email or phone to ask for these details. I also find it hard calling them all the time as I only really have access to my mobile number which,calling a premium rate number,isnt cheap.

Every phone call I make usually costs around £7-£8 so you can see why I am struggling. Many Thanks to any advice you can give me 🙂
