CSA just took money from me without telling me

December 8, 2011

My daughter was born in 1992 and c.s.a contacted me sometime in 1994 or 95 I think, at the time I was not working , I then found work where c.s.a send a letter stating that they were going to take payment from my wage of 5.00 a week.

I was working for the company for ten years and did not notice the reduction from my wages throughout this time. I moved from one address to another and I did not know that I had to tell c.s.a this information, but they seem to know that I moved. I have not heard anything from c.s.a for over 8 or 9 years, I have a new job for nearly 6 years, I have now lived at my new address for 5 years and my daughter is nearly 20, only today on 01/12/2011 a few weeks before Christmas, just got paid, only to find that c.s.a took over 880.00 from my wages without let me know via a letter, phone call, well nothing.

I was told that if they wanted to find someone they only need to use their national insurance number, so why couldn’t they contacted my new employers get my home address, send me a letter letting me know that I own them money but no! They just took it without telling nothing and now no money for Christmas, or money to live on. They have now made me overdrawn for the first time since I’ve open my new bank account, so how can I get my money back? So why can’t they ask me to pay it back by instalments instead of killing me like this?

Is there any way of me getting something back, as I did not know about the back payments after all these years. I see my daughter all the time and give her money, helping her with uni things like any good dad.

Please help; I’m so upset by this!

Go to your M.P. and make a mega complaint. The CSA have not followed the correct protocol as you have not been notified or consulted.

Make an official complaint to the CSA’s complaints department and make a complaint to the Independent Case Examiners office (ICE).

I would also ask for a full breakdown of your payments. Ask you M.P. to do this, because the CSA will just ignore you!

When your complaint is upheld ask for financial compensation!

Ive slated a few men on here but you sound like a genuine decent guy. that sounds pretty sad actually. ive noticed you’ve not slated your ex which makes a change. I hope you got it sorted! I have sympathy for guys that pay and get the hassle like this. you can only blame the ones that dont pay why you are gettin treated so badly before christmas is bad though. not ringing to make a change of address is easily done!
