CSA have caused upset out of the blue
I recently received a letter from the csa saying I had been named on an application for someone I had never even herd of.
She had said I was the parent if the follow child **** They then had worked payments out saying I owed ex amount. I then contacted them and was very unhelpful and had to go through security, which I was not happy about then we I tried to discuss the matter they wouldn’t go in to it about the girl in question as it was against data protection. I then sent them a email complaint saying:
Dear Sir/Madam,
I am writing to inform you of the upset that you have caused me on the 24th of July 2014. You have sent me a letter which states that you are wanting to take child support payments from me. After calling your offices several times with regards to this ‘claim’, they wouldn’t discuss any information regarding the claimant “Miss ***********”, leaving me misinformed, all I have been told is that the case has been ‘closed’.
This whole incident has caused myself and my family unnecessary stress, the mother of my child has become unreasonable with my contact with my son due to this ‘claim’ and has stopped me from seeing my son altogether. I was supposed to take my son away for the week but now due to this “claim” I have lost that privilege.
The dates that were put in the letter state that the child was conceived around the time that my ex partner and I were in a relationship and we just had our own child, meaning I would have been disloyal to my partner. These accusations have also caused my family to question my honesty and I have had no evidence to prove my innocence, I am very unhappy with these accusations and misinformation and believe I am in the right of compensation because my ex partner had broken my £450 phone in anger, I know that this is a police matter but if this error hadn’t occurred none of this would have happened.
I hope to hear a response as soon as possible or I will seek legal advice if I do not feel this matter is dealt with appropriately.
Regards…
I then received one back saying:
Thank you for contacting the Child Support Agency.
We are unable to progress your query using this facility.
Please contact Child Maintenance Services on 0845 2668792* or 0345 2668792* who will be able to help you.
I then rang and got told sorry case is closed. What an unprofessional service! Any advise on what I can now do???

Bunch of wankers did the same to us
Could always go and see your mp. I also think your ex is being spiteful and is using the situation to get at you. I would be concerned about losing contact with your son and get legal advice on getting your contact re-established.
Csa have opened up a case on a pwc’s say so and they have to act on it, unfortunately nrps are automatically guilty. Have you received an actual closed letter and the reasons why it’s closed from the csa?
I’d be really unhappy myself and be just at legal advice and would take them to court.
Never, ever deal with the CSA by phone, always in writing and send by recorded delivery.
Keep all letters received and copies of yours sent in date order.
Believe me, it will pay dividends in the future.
