CSA has my money and won’t hand it over

My ex partner has been paying CSA from his wages for over 8 months I have not recieved one penny!!! When contacting them via phone call I get lip service and nothing is achieved, they have admitted that they owe me several hundred pound and are still not paying up, this is theft!!!

  1. It could be an idea to get your ex to start paying the CM straight into your bank account now.Only you as the PWC can arrange this if your ex agrees, that way every month your money is there and then you can ask for the remaining £700 the CSA owe you.Do not ring the CSA for the arrears ,send a letter and get them to sign for it ,give them a requested time(say 3 weeks)to pay you the money. If you do go down this route at least no more money is getting kept by theCSA .Your ex can transfer the money every month from his bank to your bank, stating Child Support. When my husband and his ex wanted it directly,he rang CSA aand they in turn rang her to get permission for it to happen. The CSA then sent letters to both parents giving permission for CM to be paid this way(if it stops, the PWC can go back with the CSA)Dont let theCSA get anymore money if you and the NRP can work together.

  2. And to think we are about to pay for this service!! If you trust your ex enough as Alice says enter into an agreement direct. CSA also run a service called Maintenance Direct where they will assess but not collect.

Write a letter of complaint and ask why payments have not been sent to you and send it recorded delivery that way they can’t deny having received it. Best to deal with them by letter, with telephone calls you are often passed from pillar to post hearing different stories every time.

  3. Amanda,

Write a clearly marked letter of complaint and give the agency 10 days to transfer the money they have received on your behalf into your bank .
Copy in your local MP and ask for their assistance with this matter.
Keep copies of all correspondence sent and post signed for.
