CSA does not leave me with enough money to see my daughter

After using ever swear word to the CSA personally, I decided to use my calm line manager to speak on my behalf.

CSA have decided in their great wisdom that because of the VERY unfair new legislation whereas, they do not now take living expenses into consideration, after paying over £400 pm (not your average monthly spend on any child), with my normal rent, household bills and legal requirement bills ie, car insturance, tv licence, I am left with just £25 pw for myself to live on.

This now means I cannot afford the 4 hour round trip to see my daughter, nor does it mean I have enough money to feed myself.

How can the CSA/government not use common sense.

I an an ex service person who receives a war disablement pension but also work for a low amount of money but the ex wife has asked for a variation of all my income even though she rarley allows my to see my daughter. Makes up excuses like her friend is coming round today so you cant have her.

The CSA will not budge, not even with travel expenses at 60p per mile is too excessive…….well try driving it every 2 weeks.
Looks like I’ll just be another statistic, unemployed (as I will be slightly better off financially).

The Governament need to relook at the legislation.

  1. I completely agree. They are leaving nrp in poverty and it is disgusting that legally they can do this. THe CSA think they are above the law and they believe everything the pwc says, even when it is blatant lies.

There is a new system coming in which will be asking pwc if they wish to continue with the CSA. If they do it will be a charge system. The pwc will now seemingly get 70% of the money and CSA taking 30%. They will also be charging for assessments. When the pwc says they do wish to continue using the CSA they will be charged for an assessment and application.

The Government have seemingly realised that the current system doesn’t work and want parents to reach their own amicable agreement.

  2. I totally agree, the balance of payments are way out of control. How can a nrp end up paying more for 1 child that does not live with them than they do for 2 children that do live with them. After rent/mortgage this can put the 2 children at risk of losing their homes – there has to be a better system

  3. Colin,

The agency can make a variation for contact costs.

Do you have any children living in your household?

  4. They will make a variation for travel costs but the first £15 is disregarded I believe

  5. The CSA have come up with a great deal for my circumstances.
They say i must pay 300 pound per month on a take home of 1000.00 , great if i did not pay 500.00 rent & 80.00 council tax + 200 fuel costs for travel to work each month , how can i work when i now cant het there ….No Brainer , the buttheads in parliment are utter idiots .Also my food and household costs are not even in there , wow , you couldnt dream this crap up .
